Dosage Forms
St. John's Wort Herbal Oil is
certified Kosher and Parve, and packaged in convenient 50 ml amber glass bottles with glass pipette droppers.

Indications
As well as being beneficial for the treatment of mild to moderate depression, St. John's Wort is an excellent topical remedy for wounds, bruises, varicose veins, chapped skin, scrapes and minor burns, including sunburns. St. John's Wort also helps relieve external pain, itching and inflammation. Best of all, it is safe and delicate enough to use on a baby's skin.

Contraindications
This product should not be taken internally by those on sedatives or tranquilizers. May cause photosensitivity and skin irritations with internal and external use.

Therapeutic Indications
St. John's Wort is a flowering perennial herb native to Europe. Traditional external use included treating ulcers, wounds, sores, cuts, bruises, and varicose veins. Internally, it was used to relieve bladder ailments, nephritis (kidney disease), depression, diarrhea, dysentery, worms, and different kinds of cancers.

Hypericin, one of St. John's wort's active compounds, is readily available in the upper portions of this plant. Research confirms this constituent to be:

anti-inflammatory: able to reduce the pain and severity of inflammations
antidepressant: balances brain chemistry to more constant levels
antiseptic: able to protect against any type of infection
antiviral: specifically inhibits viral activity
helpful in healing wounds, cuts and scratches, myalgias (muscle pains), and minor burns (including sunburns)
St. John's Wort oil is gentle enough to be used to soothe a baby's delicate dry skin, rashes, or any dermal irritation.

Storage
St. John's Wort Herbal Oil should be stored in a cool, dry area until it is used. Once opened, refrigeration and tightly closing the cap will prolong its shelf life.

Usage
For internal use
, take 8-12 drops, 3 times daily to experience all the benefits available from St. John's Wort Herbal Oil.

For external use, warm this Oil to body temperature by rubbing between your hands or dipping in warm water. Apply liberally to affected areas, and massage in. Be sure to treat the region adjacent to the wound, as healing is occurring here too.

If using a bandage, increase the amount of oil applied. This guarantees the area being treated is still exposed to the oil, not absorbed by the bandage.

Complimentary Therapies
Proper nutrition is vital to good health. Drink plenty of water (at least 8 glasses daily) and juice instead of coffee, tea or sodas. Try to avoid synthetic ingredients, highly concentrated in prepared or packaged foods, and take a well-balanced multivitamin and mineral supplement.

Compression, elevation, and ice or heat can be used to alleviate discomfort. A qualified health practitioner should be consulted to confirm which is the best course of treatment for you.
