Indications
Saw palmetto is a small tree whose berries were used by Native American Indians to ease certain ailments. These berries contain high concentrations of plant sterols, including beta-sitosterol, which perform as anti-inflammatory agents. They also contain fatty acids and phyto-sterols that discourage the action of dihydrotestosterone, the accumulation of which is believed to cause prostrate enlargement.
