Therapeutic Indications
Kava kava is a major traditional crop in many Pacific countries. In the religious, political and economic life of many island societies, kava has commonly been embraced for its calming effects on the body. This
newly rediscovered medicinal plant promotes muscle relaxation without the loss of alertness. Kava kava is, therefore, a perfect supplement for today's fast-paced, busy, highly stressed, workaholic lifestyle. Best of all, kava is free from the side-effects
and addictions common to anti-anxiety pharmaceuticals.
This South Pacific herbal can reduce symptoms of anxiety such as nervousness, dizziness, heart palpitations, headaches, chest pains, and feelings of gastric irritation. It leaves the user more relaxed and clear
thinking.
Kava kava is ideal for women experiencing menopause. As a group, they respond particularly well to this herb's relaxing and mellowing properties. Able to increase positive feelings of well-being and control mood swings,
kava also relieves menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes.
Clinical investigations performed throughout Europe demonstrate the effectiveness of kava. The active constituents, known as kavalactones, help contract muscles to aid in their relaxation. This herb has gained approval
for the therapeutic treatment of insomnia, nervous depression, anxiety, and restlessness.
Storage
Kava Kava should be stored tightly sealed in a cool, dry area until it is required.
Usage
Take 3-5 drops 3 times daily one half hour before meals for an extended period of time (three to four months).
Complimentary Therapies
A proper diet is essential to overall good health. Replace the intake of junk, processed and fast foods with vegetables and fruits. Compliment your daily diet with a well-balanced multivitamin and mineral high in B-complex and vitamin C. Drink plenty of
water and juice (at least 8 glasses a day), instead of coffee, tea or sodas to replenish the body's fluids.
