Ingredients
Bilberry Leaves (Vaccinium myrtillus)
Pure Grain Alcohol (20%)
Pure Filtered Water
Dosage Forms
Bilberry Leaves is available in concentrated, certified Kosher and Parve, Super Strength Holistically Standardized low alcohol extract packaged in convenient 50ml
amber glass bottles with pipette droppers.
Indications
High in vitamins C and A, Bilberry also contains high levels of anthocyanosides (a bioflavonoid complex). Bilberry helps maintain normal nighttime vision, supports visual adaptation to light, and reduces macular degeneration, nearsightedness, and diabetic
retinopathy. The anthocyanosides Bilberry contains support the health of the eye and circulatory system by supporting healthy connective tissue formation, strengthening the walls of blood vessels, reducing inflammation, providing antioxidant activity, and
improving micro-circulation.
Contraindications
Avoid use during pregnancy. Do not place in eyes.
Therapeutic Indications
Bilberry has earned its reputation for eye protection. Credited with the cat like vision attributed to British pilots during the Second World War, bilberry's actions have been the subject of many
studies.
Researchers have found that bilberry can help to protect us from the leading cause of vision loss, age related macular degeneration (AMD). Bilberry has the antioxidant compounds anthocyanosides which protect the retina.
Additionally, bilberry reduces hemorrhaging in the retina and strengthens capillaries.
Bilberry protects the lens and the retina from oxidative damage. Its compounds also help the eyes adapt to bright light and improve night vision. Demonstrated in two clinical studies, the antioxidant activity of
billberry's compounds appears to reduce the risk of cataracts.
Clinical trials have also shown bilberry is capable of helping to improve retinal damage caused by hypertension or diabetes.
Science has discovered that some of bilberry's action can be traced back to its anthocyanosides. These compounds can improve the delivery of oxygen and blood to the eye while also acting as a potent antioxidant which
protects the eye from free radical damage, believed to be a major cause of eye disease.
Bilberry is vital to protect the eye from glaucoma via anthocyanosides which strengthen the walls of blood vessels, acting to stabilize collagen throughout the body, including the eyes. Stabilization of collagen
increases the structural integrity of the eye itself, preventing glaucoma.
Storage
Bilberry should be stored tightly sealed in a cool, dry area until it is required.
Usage
Take 3 - 6 drops (orally) in water, 3 times daily before meals.
Complimentary Therapies
Proper nutrition is vital to good health. Choose a well balanced multivitamin and mineral. Be sure to drink plenty of water and juice, instead of coffee, tea or sodas. Avoid artificial ingredients, and prepared or packaged foods.
